LAREDO PETROLEUM'S FOUTCH RECEIVES 2012 ENTREPRENEUR AWARD

TULSA, OK - June 25, 2012 -- Laredo Petroleum Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: LPI) ("Laredo" or "the Company") announced today that its chairman and chief executive officer, Randy A. Foutch received the 2012 Ernst & Young Serial Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Southwest Area North.  The award recognized Foutch's repeated success in founding and building four oil and natural gas exploration and production companies during the past 20 years. 

Beginning in 1991, Foutch formed Colt Resources Corp., Lariat Petroleum, Inc., Latigo Petroleum, Inc. and most recently Laredo Petroleum.  After building the companies from the ground up, the initial three companies were sold in private transactions valued at more than $1.1 billion.  Laredo Petroleum was taken public in December of 2011 and has a current enterprise value exceeding $3.5 billion.
