Nikkei gains as ECB comments spark short-covering
TOKYO, July 27 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei share average rose
on Friday after comments from the European Central Bank's chief
raised hopes of more measures to tackle the region's debt
crisis, spurring a flash of short-covering, but the gains were
seen as vulnerable.
The Nikkei M.N225> rose 1.5 percent to 8,566.64 points while
the broader Topix put on 1.6 percent to 726.44.
