Nikkei gains as ECB comments spark short-covering
TOKYO, July 27 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei share average rose on Friday after comments from the European Central Bank's chief raised hopes of more measures to tackle the region's debt crisis, spurring a flash of short-covering, but the gains were seen as vulnerable. The Nikkei M.N225> rose 1.5 percent to 8,566.64 points while the broader Topix put on 1.6 percent to 726.44.
