Japan Aug housing starts fall 5.5 pct y/y -govt

TOKYO, Sept 28 (Reuters) - Housing starts in Japan fell 5.5
percent in August from a year earlier, down for the third
straight month, data from the land ministry showed on Friday,
suggesting a weakening in the economy sapped demand for housing
investment. 
    Orders received by 50 major construction companies rose 8.7
percent in August from a year earlier.
