BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Bombings on Shi'ite neighborhoods in Baghdad and a blast on an Iranian pilgrim bus killed more than 30 people on Saturday, marring Iraqi celebrations of the second day of the Islamic Eid al Adha religious festival.

Violence in Iraq has eased sharply, but Sunni Islamist insurgents and al Qaeda's Iraq wing often target Shi'ites in an attempt to stir up the kind of sectarian tensions that dragged the country close to civil war in 2006-2007.

Two car bombs exploded on Saturday, one ripping into a restaurant in the Shi'ite stronghold of Sadr City and killing at least 23 people, police and hospital sources said.

"I was just selling fruit and we were surprised by a huge explosion on the other side of the street," Hassan Falih Shami, a grocery stall owner near the site of the blast. "You can see pools of blood, the shoes and pieces of clothing."

Hours earlier, a roadside bomb planted near an open-air market killed seven people, including three children at a playground. Another blast killed six people when it hit a bus carrying Iranian pilgrims to a Baghdad shrine, police and hospital officials said.

Police said the attack on the Iranian pilgrims came from a bomb that had been attached to their bus. It exploded around 300 meters (yards) from a police checkpoint, sending the bus out of control before it flipped over on its side.

Insurgents have carried out at least one major attack a month since the last U.S. troops left in December. Iraqi officials worry Syria's crisis is bolstering Iraqi insurgents.

The monthly death toll from attacks in Iraq doubled in September to 365, the highest number of casualties in two years, including a series of bombings targeting Shi'ite neighborhoods that killed more than 100 people.

Security officials had said they believe insurgents would try to carry out a large attack during the religious holiday, which started on Friday.

Car bombs exploded and mortars landed around the Shi'ite neighborhood of Shula, northwestern Baghdad, on Tuesday killing eight people and wounded 28, and another person was killed by a mortar round in Kadhimiya area.

Not even a few months ago they were still occurring. What happened that they let up for political reasons? Are all the fighters going to Syria? I’ll bet they have. They may see bombings and random violence as their profession and are happy to be able to use it anywhere they can?

Can anyone be certain the bombings are anything more than a kind of spoilsport because it is relatively easy to do it anywhere they can? I still can’t understand what the Syrian militants that cut that poor kids head off like he was a goat were trying to prove or demonstrate except they weren’t working on all cylinders and are psychotic. But in some ways they are only freelance and less disciplined hawks anywhere else that want to use the military of the developed countries to “get their rocks off”. I think both have the same instincts for destruction.

Many issues which should have been debated in this election were left by the wayside. Wars which contribute 10′s of trillions of dollars to America’s Federal Debt and other Nations’ debts will eventually and surely cause the warring nations to go broke and be owned by all the Multi-trillion dollar wealthy Multi-national Insurance, Multi-national Investment companies and International Banks who do nothing for their horn of plenty life styles except loan the money for wars, The profits from all of these international wars are feeding and push feeding all the Financial war hog’s at the “War Hog Trough.” America and all other nations cannot sustain even a common life style because of these never ending Trillions of dollars wars demand.
Mitt Romney brought up the fact that he wants 2 Trillion dollars to build ships for America to have the most Superior Navy. He then wants to kill Medicare and gut Social Security in the guise of saying it from going broke.-(Probably from spending too many trillions on Wars.)
Voters need to get their priorities in order and do their own thinking and vote or a NON-WAR President if they don’t want to be owned by a Multi-National Group who has Trillions and Zillions of ill-gotten money,(Much more than the United States has.) from all the past intentionally promoted wars for profits. These people operate in total secrecy and we in America are kept in the dark like mushroom and fed crap like mushrooms are fed. The old saying what you don’t know don’t hurt you is a lie. What you don’t know can and usually does kill you.
Think of prosperity for America’s Poor and Middle Class, they are the soldiers who fight, lost their lives, arms, legs, eyes and brains for the love of their Country. Don’t allow Rich Fat Cats from International Countries and the Corporate Partners Buy Out America, after America Has Gone Broke, then live under a Nation Called “America Incorporated.”
We will probably never know, but with the timing of elections in America, any one of hundreds, of extremely wealthy Fat Cats, worth Trillion or Zillions of dollar, from any country around the world, could have easily paid a few million dollars to have 100 common town folks to do the attack in Benghazi, just to help the American Political Party of their choice to have a better advantage of getting elected in America.
Yes, big money people are this rotten. Vote your heart, not your pocket book and your life will be better.
