WASHINGTON | Mon Oct 29, 2012 10:13am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama will not travel to a campaign event scheduled for Tuesday in Wisconsin and will stay in Washington to monitor Hurricane Sandy, the White House said on Monday.

The event, just eight days ahead of the November 6 election, was scheduled to take place in the battleground state's Green Bay area.

Instead, Obama will "stay in Washington ... on Tuesday and closely monitor the impact of and response to Hurricane Sandy," the White House said in a statement.

For the last four years, Obama has been campaigning through emergencies, giving campaign speeches when he should have been governing.

Now he’s trying to look compassionate while he really couldn’t care less about the people being hit in these hurricane hit areas. Too little, too late, Obama.

@Sensibility, I like how you conveniently forget about all Of Obama’s previous visits to things like the wildfire damage around Colorado Springs or visiting tornado damage in the south, and that was in jus tthe last year.

Really man, you need to get some perspective or you are going to die early due to self-induced psychosis.
