Radcliffe has practiced corporate law for nearly two decades. Most recently, he served as vice president and chief legal counsel for IHS, Inc., a $6 billion global leader in providing business information and insight through published research, technical standards, codes and specifications. There, Radcliffe was a strategic advisor to company executives and their primary legal resource. Highlights of Radcliffe's IHS service include architecting a global intellectual property portfolio, serving as chief compliance officer and leading a cross-functional initiative that drove more than $7 million in recurring costs out of the business.
Radcliffe started his career as an associate in the Tulsa, Okla.-based law firm, Pray Walker. From there, he joined Conner & Winters, another Tulsa firm, where he specialized in intellectual property related to software development and licensing, information technology rights, copyright issues and dispute resolution.
In 2000, Radcliffe started Fogdog Legal Counsel, an entrepreneurial solo practice from which he served as a legal and strategic advisor to a portfolio of start-up technology and service companies. One was ChoiceSeat, a technology firm. As general counsel and corporate secretary, Radcliffe guided ChoiceSeat through complex intellectual property rights relationships with major technology firms, national sports leagues and major sports venues.
Radcliffe has also worked as a senior attorney for WilTel Communications, where he was lead attorney on numerous software development engagements. In addition, he was corporate counsel at Sneed Lang Herrold, a boutique litigation firm.
"Sean Radcliffe's strong background supporting technology companies will be a great asset to Ciber," said Dave Peterschmidt, Ciber president and CEO. "His experience negotiating complex relationships between clients and partners also will serve our company well."
