Obama: U.S. now recognizes Syrian opposition coalition
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Tuesday that the United States now recognizes a newly formed coalition of Syrian opposition groups, a move aimed at ratcheting up pressure on Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
"We've made a decision that the Syrian Opposition Coalition is now inclusive enough, is reflective and representative enough of the Syrian population, that we consider them the legitimate representative of the Syrian people in opposition to the Assad regime," Obama said in an interview with Barbara Walters of ABC News.
The move, which was widely expected, could give new international legitimacy to the rebels fighting to overthrow Assad, but stops short of authorizing U.S. arming of the opposition, something Obama has steadfastly refused to do.

I fixed your headline for you Reuters. I know it’s difficult being obama’s waterboy and all so I didn’t think you would mind the help.
So here is a wrap up of the last week in Syria:
First) Syrian terrorists publish a video of them killing a rabbit with chemical weapons. They threaten to use them against civillians.
Second) Syrian Islamist militants publish a video showing a child terrorist being forced to cut the head off a live captive in Syria.
Third) The US puts off classifying certain elements of the ‘rebels’ as terrorist organizations.
Today) Syrian terrorist rebels massacre around 200 Allawite civillians
And now) The US recognizes these same terrorists as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people.
Absolutely mindboggling, I have never seen such an utterly despicable casting off of any and all moral standards whatsoever for the purpose of imperialism.
This is without a doubt the dirtiest most bloodsoaked and shameful moment in US history…
How could you ever recover from this America?
Reuters how are you ever going to scrape enough credibility back together to ever be taken seriously again???
