25 Finalists are Competing to Present the Weather on "Noticias Univision 41";

NEW YORK,  Jan. 8, 2013  /PRNewswire/ -- Verizon Wireless, operator of America's
largest 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network and WXTVUnivision 41, the  New York
 area's leading television station regardless of language, announced today that
thedeadline for viewers to vote for their favorite Top 10  Amigos  del Tiempo 
(Weather Friends)  contestants is  today,  January 8, 2013.   Viewers can vote
for their favorite contestants by going to This unique
contest offers participants the opportunity of a lifetime - reporting the
weather twice a week for six months during the "Noticias Univision 41" newscast
airing at  11 p.m.

Each of the Top 10 winners will receive a new 4G LTE tablet from Verizon and a
Verizon Wireless gift card which can be used to purchase up to six months of
free prepaid service. Winners may use their tablets to record and submit their
weather reports on a weekly basis to "Noticias Univision 41."

In order to participate in the  December 20, 2012  auditions, contestants had to
register to take a free Verizon Wireless  Amigos  del Tiempo  workshop to learn
how to use 4G LTE-enabled tablets to videotape and submit their weather reports.
WXTV Univision 41 judges selected 25 finalists out of the total number of
participants who auditioned that day. To be eligible for the contest,
participants had to be aged 18 and older, speak Spanish fluently and live in 
New York,  New Jersey  or  Connecticut. There was no purchase necessary to enter
or win.

WXTV Univision 41 finished 2012 as the No. 1 most-watched early local newscast
in the country among Adults 18-34 and Adults 18-49, regardless of language,
beating all ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and CW local stations.
