SEC opens inquiry into Herbalife - DJ
Jan 9 (Reuters) - The enforcement staff of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has opened an inquiry into nutritional supplements seller Herbalife Ltd, Dow Jones reported on Wednesday.
Herbalife is the target of prominent short-seller Bill Ackman, who has called the company a "pyramid scheme," a charge it denies. The SEC declined to comment and Herbalife could not be reached immediately for comment.
