AppliedMicro Announces Election of Dan Dove to Ethernet Alliance Board

  SUNNYVALE, CA, Feb 21 (Marketwire) -- 
Applied Micro Circuits Corporation (NASDAQ: AMCC), also known as
AppliedMicro, today announced that Dan Dove, senior director of
technology for connectivity solutions, has been reelected to the Ethernet
Alliance Board of Directors. In this role, Dove will help promote and
advance Ethernet technology and its associated ecosystem. 

    Dove is a physical layer (PHY) expert with more than 30 years of
experience in developing and applying advanced networking technology. He
currently chairs the IEEE P802.3bm Next Generation 40G and 100G Optical
Task Force.

advanced Ethernet technologies that address the increasing demand for

company's Ethernet physical layer strategy, participating in standards
development and consulting on feature definition with the company's
product management teams. Prior to joining AppliedMicro, Dove spent 31
years in the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Networking Division where he was
involved in the development of industry standards and the application of
those standards within HP Networking products. He has developed numerous
networking products, participated in IEEE 802 standards since 1988, and
holds 21 patents.
