Kikkoman to Hold News Conference to Announce Major Gift

Kikkoman Foods Inc., subsidiary of Kikkoman Corp., the world’s largest producer of naturally brewed soy sauce, today announced that it will host a news conference to announce a major gift of statewide and national significance.

Kikkoman’s honorary CEO and chairman of the board of directors, Yuzaburo Mogi, will announce a gift by the company of statewide and national importance.
After the announcement, all the participants in the Wisconsin-U.S.-Japan economic development conference, which begins at 3 p.m. and is open to the news media, will be available to answer questions on topics related to the conference.
Both the awarding of the gift and the economic development conference are taking place as part of Kikkoman’s celebration of the 40th anniversary of its Walworth, Wis., soy sauce plant, now the largest naturally brewed soy sauce factory in the world.


Mr. Mogi, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Chancellor Michael Lovell and Reed Hall, secretary and CEO of the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
The following speakers also will be available to answer questions on topics related to the economic development conference:

• Toshihiko Fukui, former governor of the Bank of Japan

• Mr. Ryoki Sugita, chairman, Japan Center for Economic Research and retired chairman and chief executive, Nikkei Inc., one of the world’s largest financial media companies

• Dr. Randall Kroszner, professor of economics at the University of Chicago School of Business, former governor, Federal Reserve System, and former member, President’s Council of Economic Advisors

• Mr. Minoru Makihara, former chairman, Mitsubishi Corp., one of Japan’s largest companies

• Mr. John Schilfske, chairman and chief executive, Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.
