ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (Reuters) - President Barack Obama likely will meet with Congressional leaders ahead of the looming September 30 deadline to keep the government funded, but a White House spokesman made it clear on Monday that it is up to Congress to come to an agreement to avoid a government shutdown.

"It is likely that the president will meet with leaders. I don't have a time for that or a date for that," White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters traveling with Obama aboard Air Force One to the U.N. General Assembly meeting in New York.

"But here's the bottom line: Congress needs to act responsibly in order to ensure the government does not shut down," Carney said.

The radical extremist known as Ted Cruz thinks he can use extortion and hostage taking to force a repeal of Obamacare, as if the 40+ time the House of Republicans have tried and failed to do so was just a warm-up.

This guy is so nuts he makes Karl Rove look like a rational person. Karl “check it again, I’m telling you Romney WON” Rove. Let that sink in for a minute. (for those lacking context, Rove sent in opposition research on Cruz to Chris Wallace of Faux News prior to an interview with the nut, so that he could hit him a few times with the reality stick. Which he did. It didn’t stick.)

Obama teaches Constitutional Law. Obama comes from the legislative branch of government, both in the state and nation. He has read Article I of the Constitution and believes in what it says. He’s not weak unless you believe the Constitution is weak. That’s another argument.

This is just plain crazy. We saw the problems caused last year with similar games over the budget and debt limits.

basically Cruz is using this Obamacare tactic as away to get exposure for the 2016 election, to raise fund today and by having people sign up on his anti-Obamacare website, a database for future fund raise.

Deep down, Cruz knows the Senate will not pass the house bill. Its just a dog and pony show for publicity.

We have already wasted time and cash on 41 straw vote on this subject, no wonder the current Congress is the least productive Congress in history, since our founding.
