DuPont Authentication and Brother Industries Collaborate on Global Initiative to Prevent Counterfeit Printing Supplies
WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 15, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - DuPont Authentication, Inc. (DuPont) today announced that it is working with Brother Industries, Ltd. (Brother) on a global initiative to help protect its laser and inkjet supplies from illegal counterfeiting. By using DuPont™ Izon® 3D security holograms in combination with the DuPont™ Traceology™ eVerification system, users can now easily validate the authenticity of the Brother supplies they purchase.
"The risks of counterfeit supplies are quite serious for companies like Brother, that have worked hard to establish quality products in the market and have a keen interest in protecting their brand, reputation, and above all, their customers," said Peter Waker, global business director, DuPont Authentications. "Illegal counterfeit supplies can destroy a printer, plugging nozzles and producing far fewer or inferior printouts, if they perform at all. Izon® and Traceology™ can help guard against that."
Brother's anti-counterfeit initiative involves a high-security hologram on supplies packaging which carries a unique reference number, enabling instant visual authentication and verification that can be completed online or through a mobile App, in-store, at home or anywhere.
"DuPont and Brother have collaborated closely to bring together the critical elements of a strong, global consumer protection program, including easy overt validation technology, and DuPont™ Traceology™ eVerification to assist our customers in buying genuine Brother supplies they can rely on," said Takafumi Kamenouchi, managing executive officer – Brother Industries, Ltd.
