HONOLULU (Reuters) - President Barack Obama called Senator Jack Reed, Democrat of Rhode Island, and Senator Dean Heller, Republican of Nevada, on Friday to back their proposal to extend emergency unemployment benefits for three months.

Those benefits will expire on Saturday for about 1.3 million Americans. A vote on the Reed/Heller bill is likely in early January, when the U.S. Senate returns from recess.

Obama said his administration would push Congress to act promptly and in bipartisan fashion on the issue. Cutting off the benefits will have a negative impact on U.S. economic growth and job creation, the White House said.

Why on earth would they give jobless benefits to the unemployed when they can give that money to the most profitable corporations in the world like General Electric or Exxon-Mobile? General Electric pays no federal income tax and collects over $4 billion in government subsidies a year but I’m sure they need more, which is certainly a better alternative than giving it to some greedy jobless schmuck.

Dear Mr. Obama,
Please stop playing games and vacationing while the United States of America is going down the tubes due to your “CHANGE”. You have hurt your own supporters more than anyone else and now you want Congress to clean up you mess again. Better yet, please resign and do the country the biggest favor you could possibly do.

Why is it we can give BILLIONS to other countries but not fund needed programs in the US? Kerry runs around the world giving military aid to countries that hate our guts and will turn on us at the drop of a hat. Obama wants to give Afghanistan, with one of the most corrupt governments on earth, EIGHT BILLION dollars per year – why?

Cut the foreign military aid and use those funds to help our own people.
