Spain's Santander says Burns to step down from group board

MADRID Jan 8 (Reuters) - Lord Burns has presented his resignation as a member of Santander's board, the Spanish bank said on Wednesday in a filing to the stock market regulator.

He will stay on as chairman of the bank's business in Britain, Santander UK, even though he will leave the board at group level, a spokeswoman in Madrid said separately.
