WASHINGTON Jan 15 (Reuters) - IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde said on Wednesday that the U.S. Federal Reserve's decision in December to scale back its massive monetary stimulus was not expected to roil markets as long as it remained gradual.

"We don't anticipate massive, heavy and serious consequences," Lagarde said about a gradual Fed tapering of the stimulus program.
