With the recent adoption of a new unemployment insurance (UI) Integrity mandate, Equifax Workforce Solutions will present the next in a series of educational webinars detailing the new legislation and its impact on employers. Moving forward, unemployment claims response is no longer an issue of whether or not to protest a claim. Under this new mandate, employers are required to respond to all claims in order to remain compliant with state legislation and avoid financial penalties.
During "UI Integrity Update: Identifying Improper Claims," Lori Roberts, director of Government Relations, Sheldon Jackson, director of UC Product Management, and Michelle Dooley, director of UC Product Management, will discuss how this recent update to the ever-evolving UI system places increased focus on timely and adequate claims response. Participants will learn about state interpretations of the federal mandate, recent efforts by the Department of Labor to reduce benefit overpayments and strategies for identifying improper claims, such as Wage Audits and UC Data Cross Match.
