TRIPOLI (Reuters) - Fire tore through Tripoli's main fuel depot on Saturday after rockets fired by one of Libya's militias struck and ignited a tank, the National Oil company (NOC) said.

Black plumes of smoke rose over the fuel tanks, which store oil for use in the capital and are located near Tripoli's international airport.

Firefighters deployed to tackle the blaze were forced back by the fighting, NOC spokesman Mohamed al-Harari said.

How does Obama even fix his mouth to say that Libya is better off for the world without Ghaddafi? Worst foreign policy of his administration just because there were these issues in the past with both Libya and the US having killed each others citizens.

Libya wanted to come into the fold and was doing some business with Libya and Ghaddafi had mention some approval of Obama being elected. The US had given some money to the Libya government in a purchasing a bank, plus Ghaddafi had stock investments with Goldman Sachs.

Now they are burning oil field and have killed our Ambassador and 3 other Americans and the place is a mess!

Reed has it right. I hope that when Hillary runs for the white house the is an abundant use of her televised clip ” we came, we saw ….”, as this is not the intellect that America needs. A point to ponder, as more fuel assets get destroyed this will cause a price increase in fuel, which at the moment does not exist as we have surplus, however that will change, a note that change will be the most effective “untightening” of the “screws” that we have put on Russia, as Putin’s only hope for saving his economy is in the end a realization of increased oil prices. Who is really behind this?
