NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - Some U.S. stocks to watch on Tuesday:
GOLDMAN SACHS GROUP INC (GS.N)
The company reported a 33 percent increase in second-quarter earnings, helped by a strong gain in trading, though that was partially offset by a one-time charge to repay government loans. For more see [ID:nN14175292].
Shares edged 0.2 percent higher to $149.75.
JOHNSON & JOHNSON CO (JNJ.N)
The pharmaceutical company reported second-quarter results that beat expectations. [ID:nN14253944]
Shares of the Dow component were flat at $57.72.
PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL (PRU.N)
JPMorgan upgraded the stock to "overweight" from "neutral," expecting easing capital concerns, superior return on equity and earnings growth, and upward revisions to consensus earnings estimates to enable the stock to outperform.
Shares rose 1.2 percent to $37.42.
SUN MICROSYSTEMS INC (JAVA.O)
