CHICAGO (Reuters) - Jamba Inc. (JMBA.O: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) Chief Executive Paul Clayton said on Tuesday the smoothie drink maker is looking to add a bottled drink to its line of beverages.
Clayton said the drink will be sold at grocery stores nationwide and is similar to PepsiCo Inc.'s (PEP.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) Naked Juice, a line of bottled smoothies.
Jamba has been in talks with a "major" food and beverage company to distribute the drink, Clayton said at the Reuters Food Summit in Chicago. He did not give a timetable for its debut.
Jamba's smoothies are now sold only at the counter at its own Jamba stores and do not come in bottled form.
Clayton also said Jamba will not be entering any new U.S. markets this year.
