Russia can't hit 80 percent emission cut target

L'AQUILA, Italy (Reuters) - Russia will not be able to achieve the G8 goal of cutting carbon emissions by 80 percent by 2050, the Russian delegation's sherpa said on Wednesday.

G8 leaders agreed to reduce global carbon emissions by 50 percent by 2050 and agreed that rich countries should try to cut emissions by 80 percent by the same date.
