BEIJING (Reuters) - Mongolia's Badar-Uugan Enkhbat won the Olympic boxing bantamweight gold medal when he outpointed Cuba's Yankiel Leon in the final on Sunday.

World championship silver medallist Enkhbat, 23, was on top throughout the bout and won a comfortable 16-5 victory to hand Mongolia their first Olympic boxing title.

Leon's defeat left Cuba facing the unusual prospect of leaving the Games without a boxing title, with just one of their fighters still in contention for a gold medal.

Moldova's Veaceslav Gojan and fellow semi-final loser Bruno Julie of Mauritius, his country's first Olympic medallist in any sport, shared the bronze.
