MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Telmex, Mexico's leading fixed-line phone operator, sees broadcasters Televisa (TV.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) and TV Azteca (TVAZTCACPO.MX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) as the natural providers of content for when it launches its television services.
Carlos Slim, who controls Telefonos de Mexico, told Reuters Latin American Investment Summit on Thursday that the company was still awaiting final approval from Mexican authorities to add television to its existing phone and Internet packages.
Telmex (TMX.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) (TELMEXL.MX: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) will also seek content from other international producers to round out its offer for customers.
"We want our client to have what he wants, when he wants it," Slim said. .
