Exxon sees no impact from Noel on Sable gas output

CALGARY, Alberta, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Production at the Sable natural gas project in the North Atlantic off the Canadian province of Nova Scotia is not expected to be hampered by the remnants of Hurricane Noel, a spokesman for operator Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) said Friday.

Noel, whose intense rains are blamed for as many as 100 deaths in the Dominican Republic this week, is forecast to become an intense extra-tropical storm and pass over Nova Scotia by late Saturday, according to DTN Meteorlogix.

"We've been watching the storm closely, and based on current forecasts we don't expect it to affect our operations offshore," Exxon Mobil spokesman Merle MacIsaac said.

"We'll continue to monitor it to ensure the safety of all our personnel and the integrity of the facilities."

Sable, located 250 km (155 miles) southeast of Halifax, Nova Scotia, produces more than 400 million cubic feet a day. The gas is shipped to Atlantic Canada and New England.

Sable's other partners are Royal Dutch Shell Plc (RDSa.L), Imperial Oil Ltd (IMO.TO), Pengrowth Energy Trust (PGF_u.TO) and Mosbacher Operating Ltd.
