HELSINKI (Reuters) - The paper unit is a key part of Finnish engineering group Metso Oyj (MEO1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), and is unlikely to be sold, the head of the unit said on Friday.
"It's very difficult to see that anybody would buy Metso (Paper), so I don't think Metso Paper will ever be split from Metso," Bertil Langenskiold, head of Metso's paper machinery unit told the Reuters Paper Summit in Helsinki.
Langenskiold said the group's paper and minerals units have so far been focusing mostly their own business, but a new organization, announced earlier on Friday, should boost co-operation in the field of biofuels.
"(The units) have sort-of been apart and focusing on their own business," Langenskiold said.
"By grouping these together we believe that we can clearly maintain the focus on the forestry industry, but get this growth focus on the biofuels and the waste-to-energy and the whole environmental sector in a different way," he said.
