Alcoa to pay $384 million over bribery charges

Jan 9 (Reuters) - Alcoa Inc has agreed to pay $384 million to settle charges by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice related to charges of bribing foreign government officials, the government said on Thursday.

Alcoa and its subsidiaries had been charged with violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
