Missing U.S. soldier appears in video - Al Jazeera
DUBAI, July 19 (Reuters) - A U.S. soldier thought to be held by the Taliban in Afghanistan appeared in a video tape aired on Arabic broadcaster Al Jazeera on Sunday.
The soldier, who has been missing in southeastern Paktika province since late June, appeared with his head shaven speaking to camera in the clip shown by the Qatar-based television channel.
It was not possible to confirm if he was the missing soldier, who a Taliban commander said last week the Islamist militant group was holding. (Reporting by Andrew Hammond; Editing by Janet Lawrence)
