HSBC shares jump as credit squeeze worries ease
HONG KONG, Oct 3 (Reuters) - Shares in HSBC Holdings (0005.HK: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), Europe's biggest bank, tracked gains in global peers to soar more than 4 percent on Wednesday, with investors hopeful the market has seen the worst of the credit squeeze.
HSBC's shares were trading at HK$149.90 at 0356 GMT, just off a morning high of HK$150.2.
