Spain to boost public works spending 11 bln euros

MADRID, Nov 27 (Reuters) - Spain will boost spending on public works other areas by 11 billion euros ($14 billion) to create 300,000 jobs in 2009, Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero said on Thursday.

Spain will direct spending towards areas such as local government infrastructure projects, research and development, the auto sector and tourism. (Reporting by Jason Webb; Editing by Sonya Dowsett)
