Mayor says NY blast insults U.S. military
NEW YORK, March 6 (Reuters) - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said a small explosion in Times Square on Thursday appeared to have deliberatey targeted a military recruiting station, and he vowed the city would not be intimidated.
"The fact that this appears deliberately targeted at the recruiting station insults every one of our brave men and women in uniform stationed around the world," Bloomberg told a news conference.
Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said a witness had reported seeing a suspicious man on a bicycle wearing a backpack shortly before the blast.
