NEW YORK, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Fannie Mae (FNM.N) (FNM.P), the largest U.S. home funding source, said on Wednesday it plans to sell $3.0 billion new five-year benchmark notes due Sept. 16, 2014 this week.

Fannie Mae hired Barclays Capital, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan to manage the sale. (Reporting by Caryn Trokie; Editing by Dan Grebler)
