QUITO, Sept 15 (Reuters) - Ecuador's Finance Minister Wilma Salgado, who is an advocate for cancellation of foreign debt, will quit her post, a top ministry official told Reuters on Tuesday.

National broadcaster TC Television also reported Salgado will step down on Tuesday after Presidente Rafael Correa questioned her ministry's performance over the weekend.

"It's confirmed, she will step down," said the ministry official, who asked not to be named because he was not allowed to speak publicly. (Reporting by Alonso Soto; editing by Gary Hill)
