Alberta energy royalties should rise, panel says
CALGARY, Alberta, Sept 18 (Reuters) - A panel charged by the Alberta government to examine the oil-rich province's royalty system said on Tuesday that residents are being denied their fair share from oil and gas development and recommended royalties be increased by C$2 billion a year.
The report, led by chairman Bill Hunter, recommended most royalties be hiked for oil, oil sands and natural gas production.
