NYC, Hudson Yards developer clash on $3 bln of work

NEW YORK, April 30 (Reuters) - New York City and developer Tishman Speyer now have 7 days to agree on $3 billion of improvements for the west midtown development called Hudson Yards that will be built over the state's mass transit agency's rail yards, agency officials said on Wednesday.

The projects include extending the No. 7 subway line that now ends several blocks east at Times Square, improving sewer and water systems and "profiling" some of the city's streets, Gary Dellaverson, chief financial officer, for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, told reporters.

The term profiling, for example, includes raising West 33rd St, perhaps with a ramp, so that it no longer ends at one of the Hudson Yards walls, they explained. (Reporting by Joan Gralla; Editing by James Dalgleish)
