BOSTON, Oct 2 (Reuters) - The U.S. economy will recover slowly and unsteadily from recession, and unemployment will remain elevated over the next couple of years, Boston Federal Reserve President Eric Rosengren said on Friday.

"I expect a slow recovery, I'd like policy to try to stimulate the labor market as much as possible," Rosengren said in response to questions at a Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce conference. (Reporting by Pedro Nicolaci da Costa; Tel 646-223-6310)
