N.Y. Federal Reserve buys $7.5 bln of Treasuries
NEW YORK, July 14 (Reuters) - The New York Federal Reserve on Tuesday bought $7.5 billion of Treasuries whose maturities range from May 2011 through April 2012.
Dealers submitted $14.73 billion in Treasuries for the Fed to consider purchasing, according to data released by the New York Fed.
The Fed made its heaviest purchases in notes maturing on May 31, 2011 and Dec. 15, 2011.
The New York Fed has said it intends to buy $300 billion in Treasury securities over six months in a bid to lower long-term borrowing costs and revive economic growth.
