OTTAWA, July 6 (Reuters) - Working toward a global economic recovery at this week's meeting of the leaders of the Group of Eight nations in Italy is a higher priority than exit strategies from stimulus measures, a senior Canadian official said on Monday.

"The view generally among the G8 is that while we need to give some attention and look ahead to the challenges that we face on aligning some of the arrangements that we made, our job continues to be to promote recovery," the official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said.
