McCain wins New York Republican presidential vote
NEW YORK, Feb 5 (Reuters) - Arizona Sen. John McCain won the New York Republican primary on Tuesday, defeating main rival Mitt Romney and boosting his front-running bid for the party's U.S. presidential nomination, U.S. media projected.
New York was the 5th state to go for McCain in voting on Super Tuesday, so called because nearly half of the U.S. states are holding contests to choose Republican or Democratic candidates for the November general election. Romney has won one state so far in Super Tuesday voting, projections showed.
