WASHINGTON, July 1 (Reuters) - Ousted Honduras leader Manuel Zelaya is on his way from Washington to Panama to attend the inauguration of the new Panamanian president, a U.S. official said on Wednesday.

Zelaya left Washington after a meeting of the Organization of American States set a 72-hour deadline to end a crisis triggered by the military coup that ousted him from power.

"He is on his way to Panama to attend the presidential inauguration," a U.S. official said.
