Republic of Italy files $10 bln debt, warrant offering

July 29 (Reuters) - Republic of Italy said on Tuesday it may periodically sell up to $10 billion in debt securities or warrants.

The Italian government said it intends to use the proceeds for general government purposes, including debt management, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The government said it may sell $10 billion or its equivalent in other currencies or a combination of other currencies. (Reporting by Shivani Singh in Bangalore; Editing by Himani Sarkar)
