Brazil's Tombini- inflation won't spiral out of control

BRASILIA, Feb 19 (Reuters) - There is no risk of inflation spiraling out of control in Brazil, Central Bank President Alexandre Tombini said on Tuesday, adding that the bank stands ready to adjust monetary policy if necessary.

Tombini made the remarks in a speech in Brasilia. After Brazil’s inflation rate spiked in January, many economists began to speculate that the bank could raise interest rates at some point this year.
