Brazil's Mantega says c.bank could raise rates if needed

SAO PAULO, April 12 (Reuters) - Brazil’s central bank could raise interest rates if needed to control inflation, Finance Minister Guido Mantega said on Friday.

Mantega added that the government should try to curb inflation expectations. The exchange rate should not fuel price rises, though, as it has stabilized at recent levels, Mantega said at an event in Sao Paulo.
