Brazil expects U.S. will avoid "fiscal cliff"- Tombini

BRASILIA, Nov 22 (Reuters) - The United States will avoid falling off the so-called "fiscal cliff", Brazil's central bank chief Alexandre Tombini said on Thursday.

Speaking to lawmakers at congress' budget committee Tombini also said he favored holding Brazil's interest rates low for a prolonged period and believed that inflation would converge to the mid-point of the bank's target.
