NEW YORK, April 7 (Reuters) - Brookfield Properties Corp’s BPO.N chief executive officer said on Thursday 2011 could be the best office leasing year the company has seen.
“The first quarter we had a really big leasing quarter,” CEO Richard Clark said while speaking at the New York University Schack Institute of Real Estate REIT (real estate investment trust) Symposium in New York.
“There’s lots of activity in the pipeline,” he said. “The way it looks today, this could be our best leasing year for our office side.”
Shares of Brookfield Properties on Thursday were down 0.5 percent, or 9 cents, at $18.46 on the New York Stock Exchange. The benchmark MSCI US REIT Index was down 1.2 percent. (Reporting by Ilaina Jonas, editing by Gerald E. McCormick)
