UAW members ratify new GM contract
DETROIT (Reuters) - The United Auto Workers union said on Wednesday that its members have ratified the new labor contract with General Motors Corp (GM.N).
The UAW said 66 percent of its membership voted for new GM contract that was reached on September 26 following a two-day strike against the automaker.
The new contract covers more than 73,000 active workers at GM and more than 269,000 GM retirees and 69,000 surviving spouses. It will expire on September 14, 2011.
