About.com buys ConsumerSearch.com for $33 mln
NEW YORK (Reuters) - About.com, an Internet information network owned by The New York Times Co. (NYT.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), said on Monday it bought ConsumerSearch.com, an online publisher of consumer product reviews, for $33 million.
The Times expects the deal to add to earnings beginning in 2008. ConsumerSearch.com covers 250 product categories and thousands of consumer products through freelance writers who analyze reviews from online and offline sources.
