April 5 Engineered equipment maker Chart
Industries Inc (GTLS.O) said it plans to shift certain
operations under its biomedical segment in Indiana to Georgia,
affecting about 130 employees.
The company said it plans to close its liquid oxygen
therapy manufacturing operations in Plainfield, Indiana, and
relocate the manufacturing and customer service operations to a
facility close to existing operations in Canton, Georgia.
Chart will provide assistance to affected employees seeking
new jobs, the company said in a statement.
The impact of the closure is included in the company's
previously given 2010 earnings view of 40 cents to 60 cents per
share, Chart said.
It will take about 12 months to relocate the operations to
Canton, the company said.
Shares of the company were trading up 5 percent at $21.38
Monday afternoon on Nasdaq.
