China Premier Wen repeats vow to buy Spanish government debt

BEIJING, April 12 (Reuters) - China is willing to buy more Spanish government debt, China Premier Wen Jiabao was reported as saying on China's state television on Tuesday, a reiteration of China's commitment to support the beleaguered euro zone nation.

Wen was also quoted as saying that the European Union can overcome the debt problems faced by some of its member states, and that the region's economies will eventually stabilise.

Wen made those remarks at a meeting with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero in Beijing. (Reporting by Langi Chiang and Koh Gui Qing; Editing by Simon Rabinovitch)
