BOGOTA, Oct 5 (Reuters) - Colombia's largest coal exporter, Cerrejon, said on Tuesday that it should be producing 40 million tonnes annually by 2014, but the expansion plan was still subject to shareholder approval.

Cerrejon President Leon Teicher told a conference that heavy rains had impacted coal production this year, but did not say by how much.

The firm is a joint venture owned equally by BHP Billiton (BLT.L), Anglo American (AAL.L) and Xstrata XTA.L. (Reporting by Javier Mozzo)
