Formula 1 EV is "World's Fastest" Electric Racing Car

I beg to differ on the motorsports performance wall – it is the regulatory bodies that continually slow the cars down over and over via smaller wings, smaller engines or restrictor plates, smaller fuel tanks, smaller (grooved) tires… However, I’m all for EV racing even though I think it needs a “sound” to present to the audience how fast the actual vehicle speed is.

The performance wall isn’t the engines, it’s the drivers. Racing bodies like the FIA are slowing cars down because they’re too quick for human drivers, the Gs are dangerously high and the speeds threaten to overwhelm recent safety improvements.

That said, EV does represent some great potential for performance improvements, but as EmeraldSlither says, there’s something about the noise (and smell) of petrol-powered motor racing that electric doesn’t have.
